Cameron, Lincoln & Bross

My hike on 8-20-16 up three fourteeners, Cameron, Lincoln & Bross.
Mt Cameron, Lincoln & Bross
Picture at left is the saddle between Mt Democrat and Mt Cameron. I had to park about 2 miles away from the trailhead, and forgot to check the time when I left, but I got to the trailhead around 9:20.  Took me aorund an hour and a half to get to the saddle between Democrat and Camron. I skipped Democrat since I had done it last year.

Saddle between Mt Democrat and Mt Cameron was an excellent spot to stop, and appreciate the view on the other side.

Climbing Cameron

Top of Mt. Cameron
Made it to the top of Cameron, it was so, so windy. I was hoping for a shelter to take a break, but I had to climb back down to the saddle between Cameron and Lincoln for that.

Saddle between Cameron and Lincoln on the other side. Taking extra time to take pictures is an excellent way for me to catch my breath and gnaw on a hardened cliff bar that had past it's prime.

Paused a while on top of Lincoln. Originally had intended to go back down and skip Bross, but rested up enough to keep going.

Climbing Back Down Lincoln

View of Bross from the Saddle Between Lincoln and Cameron
I didn't plan on climbing Bross until I found myself on the Bross Bypass Trail, and could easily see the top. A random lady convinced me I might as well since I'm up here.

Top of Bross
At the top of Bross. Rumor on the trail was that sometimes there is a ranger at the top fining people $12, since it's technically private property, but none today. Instead, I made friends with the couple hiking behind me and their dog.  We traveled back down together, they gave me a ride to my car, and we grabbed dinner in Idaho Springs.

Coming Back down from Bross

Hike Down from Bross
Hiking from Bross down to the trailhead was a bit more challenging than I anticipated. I more or less crab walked down a chunk of the really steep part to keep from sliding down. But I made it to the bottom with a sense of accomplishment, and felt I deserved my post-hike pizza.

Watching Quandary
While lingering on top of Lincoln in my little wind shelter, I watched the clouds and their shadows move over Quandary Peak, and decided to take a series of photos for a gif.
