Bierstadt Peak

Drawn from my own photo taken when I did the hike, Bierstadt was my first fourteener I climbed. Bierstadt is not far from Georgetown and about a 7 mile hike. I did this hike with a hiking group around 2013, I remember the afternoon storms rolled in pretty quickly, and we really had to hustle to get back down below treeline. When I picked a photo to draw from, I really wanted to include The Sawtooth, between Bierstadt and Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mt Evans) which really makes this part of the range identifiable, so the Summit of Bierstadt is on the right. This particular drawing does not use black, I made all of my darks by combining different colors. Done entirely with colored pencil this piece is part of my Colorado Fourteeners series where I aim to draw all of the fourteeners.
